I realise that winter is on my doorstep when i switch my fairy lights on at 5pm!  I bought these a few years ago from Hannah Nunn and they are timeless.

Suet Yi

I saw Suet Yi's work recently at the Northern Contemporary Craft Fair. She is a recent graduate from the Decorative Arts course at Nottingham Trent University.   I thought her work was infused with a sense of silence, delicacy and whimsy.  She has spent a lot of time travelling through Japan  and this influence is evident in her work.  Her little landscapes of birds and trees were delightful.

Terracota Plates with drawings of children

Raindrops

Her latest work is the 'raindrops' series.  As mentioned on her website she
'wanted to capture a single moment in time in the rain .... something simple but timeless".

Hadieh Shafie

10250 pages  2011
Ink and paper with handwritten and printed Farsi text 'love'

I have just discovered Hadieh's work.  Sublime!!

A constant element of my work has been the significance of process, repetition and time all rooted in the influence of Islamic art & craft.

Ed Sheeran - Wayfaring Stranger

I have just bought Ed's new album ... and it is an absolute must!!  He is a real storyteller and a great singer.  This song is not on the album so just kick back and enjoy.

Nic Webb

I love the simplicity and beauty in these spoons.

Nic is an artist based in Camberwell, South London and he comments:

‘I am passionate about working with wood. It is a natural material that is both ethical and sustainable to use. I work with a combination of traditional tools and modern methods to achieve hand crafted objects of contemporary art and design.’

cartolina app upgrade

I am loving the fact that i can now play with the cartolina app on my iPhone in my other camera apps and change the colour and feel of each picture.  I have said this is one of my favourite things on my phone ... and now it has got even better!

I could waste hours playing!!
