Michelle Forsyth

Michelle Forsyth has such diversity within her work it was really difficult to decide which images to share with you.  Her website is a treasure trove of images of her work so I urge you to go and have a good look at her work.

Her statement reads:

My work resides in a place between being intimately beautiful yet conceptually very dark.

Tyree Callahan

Tyree Callahan has created a wonderful Chromatic Typewriter.

Callahan entered The Chromatic Typewriter into the 2012 West Collects competition, which people can currently vote on through the downloading of a iphone app.

I saw this amazing piece of work on the London Print Works Trust blog and am downloading the iPhone app asap.  What an amazing invention!!

seb lester

I have just got back from a 10 day trip to Scotland (which was beautiful) and am feeling very weary.  I bought this print by graphic designer Seb Lester a few weeks ago and it really sums up how i feel!

I first saw this print at the end of last year but it seemed to be sold out ... luckily  Seb contacted me a couple of months ago to let me know where the last copy of this limited edition was still available.  It always makes me smile when i look at it ... I originally bought it for my bedroom but we have decided to put it up in the kitchen .... and I think it reflects how i feel most of the time!!

Jack Friswell

I went to Wimbledon Art School degree show last week.  I was  looking forward to seeing Jack's work and it was an absolute delight.  He showed a film, a handmade book and some prints.

A happy moment for a proud mother!  It was first class!

Typographic brooches

i really love these simple little brooches being sold on Etsy by ismay.  They are made of wood covered in old maps and letters etc. On her profile she says she has a degree in book arts and spends most of her time bookbinding and printmaking.  I love the clean, clear lines of this typeface ... i wonder which one it is?
It seems very similar to courier.  On her website unfortunately there is very little information about this artist ... but she does also make beautiful handmade books bound in old postcards and maps.
